Chrysanthemums Blossom In Autumn

And did you get what
you wanted from this life, even so?
I did.
And what did you want?
To call myself beloved, to feel myself
beloved on the earth.

 “Late Fragment”- Raymond Carver

Chrysanthemums meaning Golden Flowers, are honored plants in China and Japan; they dare blossom in Autumn’s introversion and Winter’s coldness, when other flowers don’t. They manifest their beauty in a discreet way, symbolizing the spirit of resilience and nobility of character that withstands challenges with wisdom and grace. They are also symbols of joy, love and longevity.

As I am navigating the Autumn of my life, photography plays a central role in the creation of a personal non - linear narration, which draws its material from insights, dreams, memories and emotional patterns and supports a more consious and empathic way of connecting with myself, and with the multifaceted human experience. Following the thread of a spontaneous process, while reflecting on my life, I create colorful intimate spaces that allow for a deeper connection with my various female aspects, just as they are mirrored in self - portraits or in the faces of female friends who are themselves also in a similar phase of life.
